This policy explains what personal data the site processes, including through analytics, optional reader features and third-party advertising managed by Mediavine.

reservoirs.earth does not require registration or an account. The personal data potentially processed is:

• ·Server access logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user-agent, referrer. Retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse-detection purposes.
• ·Email correspondence: if you write to info@reservoirs.earth, we process the content of your message and your email address solely to respond.
• ·Analytics (Google Analytics 4): page views and technical data such as approximate location derived from IP, device and browser. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland this stays off until you accept the cookie banner. Advertising storage on this Google tag is disabled.
• ·Reader features (Grow by Mediavine): if loaded, Grow may store identifiers in cookies or localStorage to remember saved items and recommended content. It follows the same consent rule as analytics.
• ·Advertising (Mediavine): when ads are shown, Mediavine and its partners may collect the data described in the section “Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)” below, including IP address, device and browser details, and cookie identifiers, to serve and measure advertisements.

We do not ask for names, postal addresses, payment data or biometric data. We do not knowingly collect special-category personal data.

• ·Legitimate interest: server logs (security and basic operation).
• ·Consent: non-essential analytics and reader-feature cookies in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and non-essential advertising cookies where consent is required. You can refuse or withdraw that consent without losing access to the reservoir data.
• ·Performance of a request: emails you send us.

We do not sell personal information ourselves for money, and we do not rent our contact list. Advertising on the site can involve “sharing” or a “sale” of personal information as those words are used in some US state laws, because Mediavine and its partners use data for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out as described below.

Categories of recipients:

• ·Hosting provider: processes server logs and traffic as a normal part of web hosting.
• ·Email provider: processes incoming emails to info@reservoirs.earth.
• ·Google: processes analytics events when Google Analytics is allowed to run.
• ·Mediavine, Inc.: manages third-party advertising and the optional Grow reader tools, and shares advertising data with the partners listed at Mediavine Partners.

Processors that act on our instructions are bound by data-processing agreements where required by GDPR. Advertising partners act under their own privacy policies, linked from the Mediavine Partners page.

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor’s referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

Hosting, Google and Mediavine may process data in the United States and other countries outside the EU/EEA. Where GDPR requires a transfer mechanism, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another mechanism recognised by GDPR Article 46.

Server logs: up to 90 days. Email correspondence: as long as needed to resolve the matter, then deleted within 12 months unless legally required to retain. Google Analytics data: up to 14 months. Advertising cookies and identifiers: for the periods set by Mediavine and each advertising partner, described on the Mediavine Partners page.

If you are a data subject under GDPR or equivalent legislation, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights with us, email info@reservoirs.earth. We will respond within 30 days. Requests that concern data Mediavine or an advertising partner holds may need to be handled by that company; we will point you to the right place.

US state privacy laws. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. On this site, Mediavine shows a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link to visitors in those states. The link opens their notice and opt-out for advertising they manage. You can also use the industry opt-out pages linked in the Mediavine section above.

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls on server logs, and minimisation of data collected. No internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure.

The site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, email info@reservoirs.earth and we will delete it.
